I can't take the credit for the idea. (I saw it here first) Some of the commenters had complained that the directions were a little unclear, so I thought I'd try to make it easier to follow.
STEP 1:
PICK OUT AN OBLONG/RECTANGULAR SCARF
(MINE IS ABOUT 6FT BY 2FT)
LAY IT OUT FLAT
STEP 2:
FOLD IT IN HALF SO THAT THE SHORTER EDGES LINE UP WITH EACH OTHER
STEP 3:
FOLD IN HALF AGAIN SO THAT THE CENTER FOLD
NOW LINES UP WITH THE OTHER EDGES
STEP 4:
GRAB THE TOP CORNER OF THE FOLDED PORTION IN YOUR LEFT HAND
GRAB THE TOP CORNER OF THE RAW EDGES IN YOUR RIGHT HAND
STEP 5:
TIE THE FOLDED CORNER AND THE EDGE CORNERS INTO A DOUBLE KNOT
KEEP THE KNOT AS CLOSE TO THE EDGE AS POSSIBLE
(OTHERWISE, YOU'LL MAKE THE ARM HOLES REALLY SMALL)
HOLD THE KNOT IN YOUR HAND
SEPARATE THE DIFFERENT LAYERS OF THE SCARF
STEP 6:
SLIP YOUR ARMS THROUGH THE 2 NEW ARM HOLES YOU JUST MADE
THE KNOT WILL REST BEHIND YOUR UPPER BACK
STEP 7:
ADJUST THE KNOT AND THE DRAPE UNTIL YOU FEEL LIKE IT LOOKS RIGHT
I FOUND THAT IT FIT THE BEST AND WAS LESS BUNCHY IF THE KNOT WAS PULLED DOWN FURTHER INSTEAD OF UP BEHIND MY NECK
I'M SURE THIS WILL LOOK A LOT CUTER WITH JEANS AND ACCESSORIES INSTEAD OF OVER MY PAJAMAS, BUT YOU GET THE POINT.
