Introducing:
An easy, fluoride free, home-made, customizable toothpaste that may even remineralize your teeth...
and costs pennies to make!
I've been playing around with different recipes for home-made toothpaste since January, and I finally found one that I like. It's based off of Wellness Mama's recipe for remineralizing toothpaste with a few changes (link to original at the end). I just had my regular dental checkup last week and everything was good, so it mush be alright!
To make, mix the following ingredients together in a clean bowl:
2 Tbls coconut oil
1 Tbls Calcium Powder
*I used Calcium Citrate capsules that I bought at Whole Foods
*It took approx 15 capsules that I opened and emptied
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 packet Stevia powder
15 drops Peppermint essential Oil (or use another flavor essential oil or 1/4 tsp baking extract)
Thin with water to desired consistency

You can store in a jar and scoop out as needed.
Or, you can place mixture into a plastic zip-top bag, cut off a corner (like an icing bag) and squeeze into a purchased squeezable container like in the picture

It's less sweet that commercial toothpaste, and my teeth feel cleaner throughout the day. Also, there's no fluoride if you're concerned about the reported neuro-toxic effects.
