ARTS AND CRAFTS: Kids' Craftroom Redo on the Cheap (part 4)

I still had my paint supplies out, but I was running low on my free paint. So I decided to paint a border around the floor. I figured it would brighten up the boring concrete a little and would also help define the space (play area versus craft area vs off-limits area). I started out just planning on making a sidewalk design around the outside. This would give them a path between their houses. Plus, I was planning on putting an area rug in the middle anyway. No point painting something that's just going to be covered up.
Once the border was painted and dry, I outlined it with my trusty permanent marker and drew dividing lines like the ones on a sidewalk... now the floor looked like a gameboard!

I sent my BF a quick text to get ideas for spaces, things they liked to do or things he wanted them to practice...

A bunch of the spaces involved moving ahead or back a certain number of spaces, or performing a skill of some sort.

I tried to make the spaces coincide with the different areas of the room. The spaces in front of the "Art Studio" wall have them drawing different shapes or using different colors.

Near the castle, they may fight a dragon, save a princess or get trapped in the dungeon.

Sometimes they have to act like an animal

And, some spaces let them take it easy for a turn

I even re-used an empty tissue box covered in wrapping paper (white side out) for a game die. Each side has the written number plus the corresponding amount of dots to count.
